Writers, in general, hope their work will touch people and maybe even change the world in some way – hopefully for the better. Here’s a great opportunity to do just that.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association supports those New Zealanders who must live with a neuromuscular disorder. The effects of these conditions vary widely, but are generally genetic, progressive, and can include weakness, near total loss of mobility and a shortened lifespan.
Muscular Dystrophy Northern, in conjunction with Allied Medical, are running a short story competition with all proceeds going to help continue their work supporting people with neuromuscular conditions.
First prize includes publication in the nationally distributed magazine “In Touch” and a $200 voucher from Allied Medical. The winning story will be chosen by Judy Bailey. Entries should be 1500 words max, can be on any topic or genre, and cost to enter is $5 per story.
So join in, win a prize, get published, and feel good about helping out a worthy cause!
