Au Contraire Writer’s Track

The SpecFicNZ committee is excited to be teaming up with the organisers of the 2013 Au Contraire convention to put together a series of workshops focused on writing. We’ve brainstormed some ideas, but we’d like input from our members regarding what they’d like to see on offer, so check out the list below and vote on the ones you’d like us to follow through with (you can select as many as you like).

And if you have an idea for a workshop to add to the list, or can offer yourself as a speaker, let us know, by dropping a comment on this post.

  1. Actually, instead of writing male v female characters, I’d suggest it should be “Writing Gender”, since gender is not a binary.

  2. +1 for Amanda’s suggestion.

Also, I’m happy to speak about self-publishing – specifically, I can cover the nuts and bolts of doing it all yourself, how to find (hire) people to help, and using crowdfunding (IndieGoGo/Kickstarter) as a source.

I’ve also been told that I’m a pretty good self-editor and I have a few tricks & tips if you need folks on that topic.
