The deadline for At the Edge, a dark sci-fi and fantasy anthology edited by award-winning duo Dan Rabarts and Lee Murray, is fast approaching. Writers have just over a week to send their stories to be considered for inclusion in the anthology, which will be published by Wellington-based Paper Road Press.

Dan and Lee are looking for stories from 3,000 words to 5,000 words+ on the theme of “At the Edge” – “stories about the edge of civilisation, the fringe of reason, the border of reality, by writers from the edge of the Earth.” Stories with some connection to Aotearoa/New Zealand, Australia, and the South Pacific are preferred, as are stories which celebrate diversity and inclusiveness.

Payment is by fixed fee, at NZ $30 for stories 3000 to 4999 words long, and $50 for stories over 5000 words long. All contributors also receive a paperback copy of the anthology.

The deadline is midnight, Friday 31 July.
