SpecFicNZ Review Programme

At SpecFicNZ it is our mission to promote speculative fiction. To this end, we would love to showcase reader reviews on our website. If you are an author who would like to have your work reviewed, or a reader who enjoys speculative fiction, then we would love to hear from you. General guidelines for the programme are as follows:

Authors:

While we are happy to promote all speculative fiction, preference will be given to books/ebooks by our members. If you are not a member and would like to join, you can find information about joining here.

Authors should be aware that, depending on demand, it may take some time to find a suitable reviewer for their work.

Once a review has been completed, the author/publisher will be given the opportunity to decline the review if they choose. No correspondence will be entered into with regards to the content of the review, except in the case of a factual error.

Authors will asked to provide a copy of the book cover for publication with the review on the website.

Reviewers:

Please drop us a line at [email protected] with Reviews in the subject line, and indicate your reading preferences: short fiction, novellas, novels (including the genre), non-fiction. We will do our best to match you with suitable titles.

In accepting the ebook file, the reviewer will agree not to forward the book to any other party.

The reviewer is not obliged to review if they do not enjoy the book. If you prefer not to review for this reason, please advise SpecFicNZ so the author isn’t left waiting for a response.

Reviews do not have to be long, but ideally, they should be balanced and give an idea what the reviewer liked or disliked about the title.

Since people have varying amounts of time to devote to reading, there is no time allocation for delivery of the review, but we hope reviewers will read and review within three months of receiving the bookfile.
