At the end of this week, I’m traveling to Rotorua to GeyserCon, the 40th annual National science fiction & fantasy convention.
Sounds like fun, right?
Yeah, it WILL be fun, but it will also be a working holiday.
On Friday, A.J. Ponder and I are teaching a writing workshop for 9-10-year olds. We’ll have fun with impromptu stories and superheroes. Then we’re launching the Young New Zealand Writers Youth Laureate Award-winning books. It’s a Small World by Emma Uren won the award. Xiaole Zhan received an editor’s choice award for The Extinct.
I’ll be flat out over the weekend, doing a presentation, moderating a panel on high fantasy and editing people’s work, as well as leaping in wherever help is needed, and having fun with my youngest, who is coming along.
