Hi everyone! Just trying out the new system to see how it works. Anyone on here going to the Conclave 2 convention in April? I haven’t been before, so I’m looking forward to it. Looking forward to connecting with a few of you, too. Writing is a lonely business and it’s always nice to talk to others!
Hi Freya! I’m afraid I won’t be making it to this year’s Con but I know some of the Baby Teeth crew are going to be there.

I’ll probably be there and it looks like there will be at least a half-dozen SpecFicNZers there (probably more). Some folks are trying to organize some writers’ panels and a meet-up for the Saturday.

Hey Freya, I’ll be there Saturday, and there’s a lot of chatter going on about a few panels and social gatherings, along with book signings and suchlike, with as many local writers as we can pull together. Be good to catch you there, too!
I very much look forward to meeting you, Dan, as I’ve seen your name around a lot linked with F/SF in NZ 😉 It’ll be interesting to see what panels etc are around. I’ve never been to a convention so it will be an experience for me, and I’m looking forward to connecting with others who write in the genre. Should be fun!
Cool. Eileen Mueller has been putting together some panel suggestions for the Con Com, but I don’t think anything has been published yet. I should be appearing on a panel on Collaborative Writing, and there’s been talk about world-building, ebook formatting and production, and more. There’s also a “Writer’s Conference”, but that’s being held on Thursday, which isn’t much good for us out-of-towners. So we plan on mkaing our own fun when we get there. 🙂
Yeah I’d love to have gone to the Writer’s Conference but the budget won’t extend to more than one night’s stay! I look forward to your panel, and the one on world building should be interesting. It’s probably too late for me to join anything but maybe next year in Rotorua!
