Have a great idea for an article? Want to write a book review? Familiar with blogging? Go for it!

If you’re logged in to the SpecFIcNZ site, you can post a draft to the blog. A member of the committee will review it and post it if it’s appropriate. Generally, self promotion and news should go in the members’ discussion area (don’t forget the hashtag #news), but the blog is good for articles about the craft and the business of writing, calls for submission you’ve come across, and book reviews.

To make your post, hit, the “+ New” on the top toolbar and select “Post”.

From here, draft your post. Please add an image if you can, but normally no more than three unless it is an image-focused post. Don’t forget to categorize your post — likely categories will be Calls for SubmissionReviews, Resources and In the News.

After you have inserted your images, please scroll down on the right hand side and look for a link that says “Set Featured Image”. Then, from the media library, re-select the main image from your post, so that this will show in the magazine-view front page.

When it’s ready to go, hit Submit for Review and a member of the committee will schedule it for the blog. Thanks for contributing!
