Rainer was born in South Africa. He and his wife moved to Christchurch in June 2010.

Rainer is a metallurgical engineer, but while his career is in hiatus, he spends most of his time reading and writing. His self-published trilogy, THE DOGMATIC PROGNOSIS, is now available in one bargain volume for Kindle, Kobo and Nook. See his website for details.
