About

I have often been told, by many who know me well, that I have a vivid imagination and should write a book. When I finally dredged up the courage to back in 2012, I had trouble finding a publisher who was willing to take a chance on an unknown, such as myself. I was tempted to suggest to them I never ‘would be known’ unless someone helped me change that situation, but I figured it wouldn’t endear me to them a great deal, so politely bit my tongue and decided on a different tack. Naturally a little rebellious and impatient, and not willing to let a few rejections stop me, I learned about self-publishing and did it myself.

I have self-published seven novels now, including a children’s fantasy trilogy (The Chameleon Shop), a post-oil dystopian suspense-thriller trilogy set in 2030 (The Lost Land series) – featuring a typical rural NZ family, a loveable and geeky scientist, and a cloned Haast’s Eagle, and also(Unwilling to Break), a stand alone psychological thriller novella. As my post-oil thriller is set a little in the future and features a wonderful giant extinct NZ eagle, I figured that trilogy at least should qualify for SpecFicNZ. My stories are fast paced, action packed, full of emotion and mostly feature a strong female protagonist with a lot of guts and bit of a tendency to swear too much.

I live in a small rural town in the Manawatu with my two children and far too many animals. I am also two-thirds the way through an Environmental Science Degree at Massey University.

It’s lovely to see NZ writers supporting each other in this way. I look forward to meeting new people on here and reading some of the wonderful writing I know us Kiwi’s have to offer.
