Erica Challis


Wellington-based writer Erica Challis left a career as an orchestral horn player to work as a journalist and publicist, after four years as founder and editor of the popular Lord of the Rings fan website She contributed as editor and essayist for The People’s Guide to J R R Tolkien and More People’s Guide to J R R Tolkien, published by Cold Spring Press, and created scripts for Radio New Zealand Concert. Her short stories have appeared in Sport and Takahe, and more recently in the online zine Lemon&Lime.

She is currently working on a series of fantasy science fiction novels that found their genesis as part of her body of work towards a graduate diploma in creative writing at Whitireia.
