About

Having fled the Ruined City of Christchurch, Lila Richards now lives in Auckland, New Zealand, where she shares her home with her cats, Poppy, Jeeves, and Mina. She works part-time as a sub-editor for the New Zealand Meteorological Service. As well as writing, Lila reads eclectically, sews and embroiders, dotes on her five grandchildren, and collects things, in particular old movies and owls. From time to time she enters the Middle Ages via the Society for Creative Anachronism (an international mediaeval re-creation group), where she transmogrifies into a ninth-century small-holder’s widow living in the west of Ireland, and has attained the rank of Baroness. More recently, she has been spied out and about in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s.

Her first novel, A Different Hunger, published by Bluewood Publishing Limited, has gained positive reviews, and is available from: www.bluewoodpublishing.com/blueshop as well as from www.amazon.com and from Whitcoulls online. Lila has been interviewed on CTV (the interview can be seen here: http://www.ctv.co.nz/category/lifestyle#authors), and on radio by Women on Air. A podcast is available at: http://plainsfm.org.nz/on-demand/woa-lilarichards-sept2011/

Her second Novel, Restitutions of the Blood, was released recently, and is available from the above sources.

She has also had two crime novels with a paranormal twist: Vicious Circle, and The Tarot Murders, published by Bluewood Publishers Ltd.
