I am an English-born author living in Auckland. I’m a graduate from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop in the USA, and I’m currently completing a PhD in Folk Horror at Massey University. I spent 25 years as a historian and teacher of history in the UK, USA and Aotearoa, and still enjoy teaching fiction writing and running workshops.
I’ve published short stories and flash fiction pieces in various journals and anthologies, and been placed in a several competitions worldwide. My TV pilot episode was a finalist in the Southern California Screenplay Competition in 2019. I write speculative and historical fiction, often with dark themes.

My debut novel, The Witchfinder’s Mark, published by Brio Books, is set for launch on 7th June 2022.
