Sean Monaghan


Sean Monaghan works in a busy public library. When not reading and writing, he loves cinema. His stories have appeared in Asimov’s, Aurealis, Perihelion, Landfall, Takahe and many others. He was the 2014 winner of the Jim Baen Memorial Writing Contest with his story Low Arc – Sean has also been a finalist for the Sir Julius Vogel Award, for the Aurealis Award, and for Writers of the Future.

Sean completed a MPhil (Creative Writing) at the University of Queensland, and has tutored in various courses.

Sean is also ambient musician Venus Vulture, and one half of the drone/ambient act Shadows on the Snow.
