The March face-to-face meeting for Auckland members of SpecFicNZ will be held this Sunday, 18th March, at the Northern Steamship Co pub.
Starting at 1pm and going till round 3pm or whenever. We hope many of you can make it, and look forward to seeing you there. It’s open to members and non- members, so please let anyone know who may be interested in coming along.
At the last two meetings, a couple of members brought along their recently published books, which was great. The resulting discussion came up with some very useful hints and tips about trying to get published, or how to self publish.
Location details: Northern Steamship Co. Sunday, 18th Feb. 1 – 3pm
Northern Steamship Company Building, 122 Quay St, Britomart, CBD, Auckland.
The Northern Steamship bar is in one of the Britomart heritage buildings and is a quirky, historic, relaxed setting, with plenty of seating and not too busy on a Sunday afternoon. From Britomart station, take the exit opposite Queen St and head towards the Britomart area. Turn left at Gore St – the Northern Steamship building is on the corner of Gore and Quay St, with the entrance on Gore St.
There are a variety of hot and cold drinks available as well as bar snacks.
For those using cars, there are cheaper Sunday parking rates available in the nearby streets or public carparks. The closest is the Britomart car park, rates $12 for 2 hours. There is also free car parking in town on Sundays if you don’t mind a bit of a walk, eg in the University area or in the Wynyard quarter.
For public transport, see the MAXX website. Also, both the Devonport and Birkenhead ferries do operate on Sundays.
Please let us know if you will be coming by reply email , so that we know approximate numbers. We will put a sign on the table, and let the bar staff know where we are sitting.
Look forward to seeing you,
Mary and Lisa.
