Dan Rabarts wins short story contest

Dan Rabarts’ short story ‘Children of the Tide’ won first place in the Australian Horror Writers Association / Melbourne Zombie Convention Short Story Contest for 2013. The story will appear in Midnight Echo magazine, the official publication of the Australian Horror Writers Association.

Kiwi steampunk anthology ‘Ministry Protocol’ now available

  This is a new anthology of steampunk short stories, set in the Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences universe created by SpecFicNZ member Philippa Ballantine and Tee Morris. It includes a story from Dan Rabarts “Where the River Shines”, a quintessentially Kiwi entry. It’s available from Amazon Kindle and Kobo.

Submissions open for a new anthology from Permuted Press.

Fat Zombie, “an anthology of unexpected survivor stories from the apocalypse”, is now open for submissions. Submissions close on 30 November 2013. Paying US$25 per story accepted.
