Kids and adults alike will have a blast as they learn about the history of ‘Steampunk’ at the information kiosk and take part in the fascinating activities including making your own pair of ‘Steampunk’ goggles, airship registration and a competition trail.

What is Steampunk?

Simply it is Victorian science-fiction, however the following excerpt from www.steampunknz.co.nz can expand on this:

‘Steampunk’ is “tomorrow as it used to be”, fantasy. The “punk” in steampunk is a rebellion against the present day preference for plastic and the disposable way of life. For many it is a search for where society might have taken the wrong turn at the end of the Victorian era.

Entry to Aether and Iron is included as part of your normal admission fee. Activities will run from 10am – 5pm on Saturday 28th April.
