Agile for Creatives – Jamie Sands

10th of November at 2pm

Agile is a framework, a toolset used in companies all over the world to organise teams, projects and product delivery.

What if Agile software development processes could be used as a framework for something totally creative?

I recently quit working full time in Tech to pursue my dream of publishing fiction. Once I had the time to spend writing, I immediately tried to do too much at once and found myself on the road to burn out within a couple of months.

But Agile turned me around. Agile is a development framework which encourages people-first processes and iterative delivery of projects. It’s a series of meetings, prioritisation of work and ways to visualise what you need to do. Applying Agile concepts to my writing allowed me to think critically about what to work on, prioritise projects and plan my time. I break the work down into small, manageable pieces and record the process which allows me to estimate how quickly I can work in the future.

Come join me on my journey from full-time Agile coach to an Author with five books released in a year, what I learned on the way and what I’m hoping will happen next…

This is a writing and novels focused talk, but whatever kind of creative you are, you can make Agile work for you and produce more completed works more efficiently.
