SpecFicNZ runs frequent writing contests, open to our members as well as the public at large.

These contests are intended to encourage our members to improve their skills and professionalism, try something new, practise submitting, and to promote their wonderful work. And, of course, there are prizes.

SpecFicNZ are planning to produce a collection of work every year, including winning competition entries and selected reprints from members covering both fiction and non-fiction articles. Stay tuned for more details.

2017 Science Fiction and Fantasy Short Story Award  – In association with LexiCon, the 37th New Zealand NatCon (Queens Birthday Weekend, 2017)
