Well, sadly it looks like I will get to join the group for only one meeting, [assuming I make it!], before my family has to move back to Whangarei. Is there a way to find out how many members live in Northland apart from looking at each profile? I’m wondering if there’s a chance of making a club up there..
Well I went through the member profiles one by one, [about 120] and there is only one I could find that lives in Northland- an hour from me- so, yea, bummed. 🙁
Sorry I didn’t get to hang out with all you awesome writing people. Keep doing your stuff and maybe some day I’ll get to meet ya..Best of luck with your move and your writing Serena. See if you can network some local writers up there? 🙂

Hi all,
Just a reminder about the Auckland meet up for SpecFicers – on this Sunday, 24th August (rather then 3rd Sunday of the month) starting at 1pm as usual. We changed it for this month from the 3rd Sunday as it clashed with the RWNZ conference. Guest presenters there included Jim Azevedo of Smashwords and well-known writing tutor, James Scott…[Read more]
Great talk from Darian, and good to hear a story from Mike and share some ideas. Nice to meet all who were there. 🙂
Apologies for being an hour late – among the fiction in my head was the idea that it started at 2pm, not 1pm. No idea where that came from.
Well I was very disappointed not to make it- but it seems wiser and kinder to keep my germs to my self. Meanwhile I had some interesting fever induced ideas for my Fantasy. Amazing what your brain comes up with when you have the flu and you’re 40.6 degrees..
Shame you couldn’t join us, but me and the antibodies probably should thank you. My kids just brought home tummy bugs; not sure how many good ideas that’ll give me though…

Would anyone be interested in meeting in west Auckland? I have a Studio/sleep-out that we could use for 6 to 10 people. I’m a stay-at home mum so any evening of the week would work, or weekend day time might work.. if my three little gremlins can be kept busy with something.. There could be tea and coffee..
I’m in the west (Titirangi), so I’d potentially be interested. Probably not an evening unless it was an early finish (before 9).
Well that suits me as my kids wake me pretty early so I try not to stay up too late 🙂 I live in Ranui. Would 7 to 7.30 work? I don’t know how long the meeting would last, depends on numbers I guess.

Shuzzbutt!!! Poor anticipation on my part. I agreed to help family oldies and can’t reschedule, so I’ll have to reluctantly miss this one. Dang, I could’a used an opinion or three on my latest Page One as well. But I’m definitely locked and loaded for four weeks from now.
